IPC Ignite Restructures Ad Team To Drive Portfolio
![]()
IPC Ignite has restructured its advertising sales team as part of an attempt to further develop the potential of its portfolio, which includes men’s lifestyle and music titles Loaded, NME and Uncut.
The move will see the magazine-specific sales teams divided into two new sales groups: consumer and music. Both new groups will report to Jason Campbell, who takes up the newly created role of display advertisement director for the Ignite portfolio.
Campbell, who was previously head of sales for Loaded and Webuser magazine, will report to Ignite group advertisement director Karl Marsden, who said: “With our two main display teams now working through a single director we are better placed to drive value for our customers via both the breadth and depth of the affluent male audiences we serve.”
The reorganisation will also see Ollie Scull, recently appointed ad manager for Loaded and Webuser, take up the position of Ignite consumers sales ad manager. He will continue to report directly to Campbell.
Mia Applebrink, previously senior sales executive across NME and Uncut, has been promoted to the role of Ignite music sales ad manager, now also reporting to Campbell.
Finally, Tom Bailey joins the Ignite advertising sales team as UK and international fashion manager. He has extensive experience in the men’s fashion market having previously worked for the National Magazine Company.
Marsden added: “These appointments complete my senior management line-up, alongside Richard Castle and Andrew Sanders, heading up business and digital sales respectively. We’re really geared for the future now.”
Reports suggest the company is planning a major launch into the men’s lifestyle market and has been exploring the potential for a new weekly title. Emap is also poised to launch a weekly title targeting males interested in sport, news, entertainment, gossip and glamorous women.
It is understood that the £8 million launch, codenamed Operation Tyson, could take place within the next few months and will build on the success of Emap’s existing weekly women’s titles Heat and Closer (see Emap Set To Shake-Up Market With New Men’s Magazine).
