IPC Reshuffles Key Advertising Roles

IPC Logo IPC SouthBank has reshuffled its senior advertising managers, promoting Glenda Marchant, previously ad director of the publisher’s Women’s General Interest Group, to the role of publisher on In Style and appointing Claire Portis, previously business development director for the IPC SouthBank group, to cover her previous position.

The management change will see Portis take over Marchant’s role overseeing ad sales for Woman & Home, Family Circle, and Essentials, while Marchant will replace Matt Downs, who was appointed director of IPC Corporate Key Accounts last month (see IPC Appoints New Ad Bosses To Trading Teams).

Commenting on the promotions, IPC SouthBank group advertisement director, Mark Reen, said: “It’s very satisfying for me to be able to appoint internally for such key roles on some of the most important titles in the UK market. In Style is one of the most powerful magazine brands around, and the titles under Claire’s direction account for a third of the UK women’s general interest sector.

Both Glenda and Claire richly deserve these appointments and I’m certain they will make a massive contribution to the development of the brands and teams they are taking on.”

Last month saw IPC Advertising announce plans to merge the creative advertising departments of IPC SouthBank and IPC tx/Connect under the combined banner of IPC Creative. The move is designed to create a central resource for bespoke advertising solutions across IPC’s women’s portfolio, enabling agencies and clients to tap into a single department for innovative ad campaigns and promotions (see IPC Combines Creatives For More Bespoke Ad Solutions).
