IPC To Raise Profile Of Women’s Weeklies

IPC Connect, the women’s weeklies division of IPC Media, has appointed a new agency to raise the profile of its titles, in an account thought to be worth over £5m.

Creative agency Roose & Partners has been appointed to strengthen brands across IPC Connect’s portfolio of titles, which includes Chat, Woman’s Own and Now, to give them the edge in an increasingly competitive market place.

Senior planner at Roose & Partners, Julie Jones, said: “IPC Connect’s vision is to be ‘the voice of women in Britain’ and its mission is to provide magazines for the many roles and lifestyles of these women. We see our job as helping the marketing team drive their portfolio through clearly-positioned brands and communication that fully exploits and celebrates each of the Connect titles unique affiliation with women.”

The move comes as the industry waits to see whether this week’s ABC results will show a further decline for the women’s weeklies sector.

IPC, which owns the majority of magazines in the market, saw the circulation of all of its titles, with the exception of Now , slump in the last set of ABC results (see Take A Break Retains Its Lead Of Women’s Weekly Market) .
