The Independent Television Commission will allow Channel 3, 4 and 5 licensees to combine spot advertising allowance between midnight and 6 am, without prior permission. This includes long advertising slots and home shopping formats.
The amendment acknowledges advertisements can be up to 42 minutes long and any advertisement exceeding 7 minutes must be identified in published television listings.
Home Shopping channels have also been licensed by the ITC for cable and satellite distribution.
