ITV Launches £5 Million Advertising Campaign

ITV is to launch a series of promotions as part of a new £5 million multi-media marketing campaign designed to remind viewers and advertisers that ITV is Britain’s most popular channel. The on screen campaign will be supported by outdoor, press, radio and below the line activities; the campaign endline will be “ITV. Britain’s Most Popular Button”.
The on screen campaign will include TV stars in 60 second commercials endorsing a brand of programming with which they would not normally be associated, ie Jack and Vera Duckworth will be celebrating ITV’s Arts programming, and the stars of Soldier Soldier enjoying current affairs and documentaries.
Selected trade and national newspaper business pages will carry a weekly “killer fact” to demonstrate ITV’s strengths, ie ‘More people watch Coronation Street than work full time’, and ‘News at Ten hits twice as many adults as all the broadsheets’.
Martin Bowley, Deputy Chairman of the ITV Marketing Group, said, “The creation of an ITV marketing campaign has been long awaited by advertisers and agencies alike.”
