ITV Sport launched its schedule for its coverage of the 1995 Rugby World Cup the summer. The package of events throughout May and June will provide over 65 hours of rugby, which is made up of 22 live matches, highlights of matches, reviews and previews.

Trevor East, controller of ITV Sport says “We are delighted to be broadcasting The Rugby World Cup ahead of our competitors. It is our intention to build on the success we achieved in our coverage of the 1991 event and the subsequent overseas tours.”

On three specific days the schedules have been cleared to allow uninterrupted coverage of live matches; May 27, May 31 and June 4.

The coverage begins with Rugby Warriors, four special half-hour programmes, beginning in April, profiling the 16 nations involved in the tournament.
