JCDecaux Airport has secured Bacardi as the first brand to use its new Holographic Media advertising system in Heathrow airport.

The system, which projects moving images onto transparent glass surfaces, will be used by Bacardi to target travellers in the departure lounge of Heathrow’s terminal three. A glass screen will be suspended from the ceiling of the terminal and will feature images directing passengers to a special bar to sample rum and Bacardi cocktails.
Chief executive of Bacardi’s production company, Nick King, said: “We have installed the first holographic video projection glass screen in a BAA airport. This screen, whilst transparent, gives a bright high contrast image but allows the viewer to see through the image to the rear. The video source is concealed in the ceiling and projects down at an angle of 36 degrees so the viewer does not look directly into the light source.”
Last week JCDecaux Airport launched a series of incentivised airport poster packages in an effort to capitalise on the increase in the number of holidaymakers passing through airports in July and August (see JCDecaux Airport Unveils Summer Packages).
