JCDecaux Extends London 48-Sheet Offering With Excel Deal

JCDecaux has signed a five year deal with Excel Outdoor to extend its portfolio of London 48-sheet sites by 400.
The deal, thought to be worth around £20m, will increase JCDecaux’s presence in the most high profile areas of the City of London and will allow the outdoor contractor to compete against its major competitor in the capital, More Group.
JCDecaux will incorporate the panels, which will receive JCDecaux and Excel branding, into its Premiér network, strengthening its city and backlight campaigns in Hammersmith, Chelsea, Fulham, Vauxhall and Wandsworth.
Commenting on the deal, managing director of Excel Outdoor, Mike Hawkes, said: “I wanted to work with JCDecaux due to the quality of its operation and its commitment to the improvement of the large format market. Our company will now concentrate on developing quality panels in London which this agreement with JCDecaux will now allow us to do.”
Lawrence Haines, managing director of JCDecaux, added: “I am delighted to be working with Excel Outdoor. Mike Hawkes has built an excellent business with billboards in prime locations. The agreement will strengthen JCDecaux’s offering to its clients and will enable us to provide unbeatable large-format advertising solutions for London.”
Earlier this year, JCDecaux secured a five year, £61m pan-European advertising deal with Unilever, which will see brands including Cif, Domestos and PG Tips advertised across JCDecaux’s network of sites in 22 European countries (see JCDecaux Secures £61m Deal With Unilever).
