£1m Lottery Ad Deal For Local Press

£1m Lottery Ad Deal For Local Press

The regional press has secured a deal worth £1m, forming part of National Lottery operator Camelot’s “Good Causes” campaign. The three phase campaign represents a third of the company’s media spend.

Media planning for the campaign, which will run across 70 regional titles nationwide, reaching a circulation of just under 4.9 million, was handled by MPG. The first phase consists of tailored four-page supplements detailing the good causes in the locality which benefit from National Lottery funding. Supporting point of sale material will feature in 36,000 lottery retailers across the UK.

Matthew Merrett, regional media manager at OMD, which worked with regional media sales organisation amra to negotiate ratecard across the sales houses involved, said: “We felt it vital to communicate this campaign on a local level from the outset. It is the strength of the regional press in connecting with the local communities that led us to utilise the medium on such a scale – it is an essential element of many of today’s campaigns.”
