Loss Narrows At IFG As New Mag Is Launched

I Feel Good (IFG), the magazine publishing group run by former Loaded editor James Brown, has narrowed its pre-tax losses to £1.4 million for 2001, down from £1.8 million in 2000. Sales for the period were £4.2 million, compared to £0.7 million last time.

The group has launched a new men’s title – Jack – which goes on sale today. IFG says that advertising at the first edition has exceeded expectations and budget, having attracted brands including Prada, Burberry and Audi.

IFG also publishes Viz, which increased its average monthly circulation by 1.4% and the number of subscribers by 15% across the period. The group’s film magazine Hotdog was sold last year to Paragon Publishing for £415,000.

“The Board is committed to its strategy of increasing its market share of the general interest men’s lifestyle sector and expect to do so through its publishing strategies for Viz and Bizarre and the launch of Jack,” said chairman Alistair Ramsey
