L!ve TV In Topless Darts Row

Cable TV station L!VE TV has been severely criticised by the British Darts Association for a new show called Topless Darts. The 30 minute Australian import shows topless girls playing darts to the tune of Waltzing Matilda.
The BDO, which represents 8 million darts fans, said the show is “something that is not only an insult to every female darts player in the UK, but also a tasteless gimmick that exploits women…The BDO is horrified that tasteless and tacky topless darts is being shown on TV.”
Mark Cullen, assistant managing director of L!VE TV, admitted that the programme was partly a publicity gimmick. According to ITC figures from October 1995, nearly 1 million homes with cable can receive the channel and audiences for the topless darts are thought to be in the low thousands.
