Maiden Expands AdRail Offering For Advertisers

Maiden Outdoor is launching two new AdRail packages to provide advertisers with closer targeting and better coverage at railway stations.

The company claims that the national pack of 48-sheet posters offers advertisers the first opportunity to reach rail travellers nationally, through panels at mainline stations across Britain including Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham and Glasgow.

The smaller 4-sheet poster format is to be packaged to offer oppertunities at premier London inter-changes, stations within a 90-minute commute of the capital and other key locations across the country. Within these packages advertisers will be able to further target their campaigns with themed packs to ensure high visibility or proximity to specific station retailers.

Commenting on the initiative, Maiden’s national sales director, Phil Miles, said: “Early discussions with agencies show that there is a real demand for the pre-selected audience packages.” We already have advanced bookings into the third quarter of this year.”

Maiden recently expanded its portfolio of Irish poster sites, with the acquisition of a number of ad panels from National Outdoor Displays (see Maiden Expands Portfolio Of Irish Poster Sites). However, the contractor also announced that its turnover is not likely to achieve the levels anticipated at the release of the group’s financial results in September.

The outdoor industry received a boost earlier this week with figures from the Outdoor Advertising Association showing that fourth quarter revenues rose by 15% year on year to reach £187.8 million (see Outdoor Revenue Rises By 15% During Quarter Four 2002). Entertainment, media and leisure brands were the heaviest outdoor advertisers during 2002, spending £114 million in the sector over the course of the year.
