Maiden Relaunches London 96-Sheet Billboards

Maiden Outdoor is relaunching its 96-sheet billboards in London and is planning a campaign to promote the brand building potential of the format to advertisers and media buyers.

As part of the relaunch, which takes place on 1 April, the company is investing in two new 96-sheet scrolling billboards on the A40 and is planning to unveil more in London later this year. The company is also investing in site-lighting to improve the visibility of its existing posters.

From April two new packages – the Maiden Capital 100 and Maiden Capital 50 – will be available to advertisers. The 100 package comprises 100 96-sheet billboards across London, including the two on the A40 and the 50 package consists of 50 96-sheets in key boroughs of the capital.

According to Maiden: “Every year the roadside audience in London increases, between 1999 and 200 alone the number of people entering London by car increased by 2%. Today drivers in central London can expect to spend one-third of their journey at a complete standstill and this is where 96-sheets, which provide unrivalled impact, come into their own.”

Last January JCDecaux released a report showing that the UK roadside audience rose 2.6% year on year from 2000 to 2001 and that the number of impacts rose by 150 million per week during the same period to over six billion (see Record Numbers Exposed To Roadside Ads).
