Maiden Outdoor has become the market leader in the shopping malls poster market after acquiring a further 16 contracts. Its portfolio for the sector now stands at 58 malls and includes nine of the top 20 UK malls in a market estimated to be worth £2 million.

Shopping malls are increasingly becoming both the preferred retail choice for shoppers and an attractive medium for advertisers. Research compiled by BMRB and the British Council of Shopping Centres has shown that 50.4% of all Sunday retail shopping now takes place in a mall, while 45% of ABs and 43% of C1s have used malls in the last year.

Advertisements in malls have a powerful impact on purchasing decisions as they reach the audience while it is actively deciding what to buy, rather than whether to buy. As media becomes increasingly more cluttered with advertising, this immediacy provides a powerful antidote.
