Man Utd Victory Gives ITV 48% Viewing Share

Manchester United’s European Champions League game against Juventus in Turin last night drew in over 13 million viewers for ITV.

According to early live overnight figures from the Network Centre, a peak audience of 13.2 million viewers tuned in to the game, giving ITV an audience share of 53% at that time. The match attracted an average audience of 11.7 million, and a 48% share. This compares to the consolidated figure of 11.25 million for the first leg at Old Trafford.

Brian Barwick, ITV’s controller of sport, commented: “It was a dramatic evening’s football with a series of sensational twists and turns in the plot.”
