IPC’s flagship women’s lifestyle title Marie Claire has secured Vodafone Live to launch an extensive pan-European advertising campaign.
The deal will include advertorials and a display campaign featuring the new Vodafone Sharp GX20 mobile phone with the January issue.
The advertorial will be focused around the Gharani Strok spring and summer 2004 collection and will feature fashion stylist, Sarah Maisey, taking a behind the scenes look at the collection with the help of her Vodaphone photo phone.
The bespoke double page advertorial, which will be printed in special, heavy paper will be included in issues of Marie Claire across the UK, Spain, Greece and the Netherlands. The ads will also run across In Style magazine in Germany.
Commenting on the campaign, Alistair Ballantyne, group account manager at Southbank Solutions, said: “This partnership with Vodafone really does exemplify the strengths of Marie Claire.
He added: “It highlights Marie Claire as a pre-eminent international media brand, as well as showcasing the creativity and innovation that Southbank Solutions can provide. Vodafone knew they would be reaching the right audience, internationally, in the most effective way.”
Marie Claire recently secured Calvin Klein for a special advertorial campaign to celebrate their joint 15th birthday (see Marie Claire And Calvin Klein Celebrate Joint Birthdays).
The latest ABC results for the six months ending June 2003 brought bad news to Marie Claire, which saw circulation drop 4.4% by year on year to 376,476 from 393,748 in the same period in 2002.
