Media In The City: Publicis Acquires French Digital Agency

MediaTel Insight Logo Last week saw Publicis acquire the French digital agency Wcube for an undisclosed sum, intending to rebrand Wcube and integrate it into the Publicis Modem worldwide digital network.

Olivier Fleurot, executive chairman of Publicis Worldwide, said that the acquisition marked a decisive step in the deployment of the company’s digital offering (Full Story).

JCDecaux announced its results for the first half of the year, showing a pre-tax profit of €162.7 million (£110.8 million), down 0.3% from €163.2 million the previous year.

The outdoor giant said that the growth reflected improvement across all three divisions with a very strong progression in transport and a solid performance from billboard (Full Story).

Emap sold its Australian magazines business to ACP Magazines for £38 million (Full Story).

It was also rumoured that Emap was considering loaning money to potential bidders for its three divisions, to ensure its break up auction goes ahead despite the volatility in the credit markets (Full Story).

Around 30 companies having requested information from the company on either its consumer magazines, business-to-business or radio divisions.
