MegaPoster Banks On Halifax To Extend Portfolio

MegaPoster UK secured the contract to provide a giant poster campaign to launch Halifax’s latest high interest savings account.

The campaign will run through March and will use a range of MegaPoster sites in London, Birmingham and Leeds featuring Halifax’s familiar singing staff-member, Howard Brown.

Commenting on the deal, Ian Bohn, sales and marketing director at MegaPoster said: “This is a very high profile product launch and it is natural that the advertiser should select giant posters, which offer an unbeatable blend of impact, with high frequency, to spearhead the campaign.”

The deal follows last month’s announcement that MegaPoster UK had become the first giant outdoor poster contractor to unveil a sales pack for the forthcoming European Football Championships, offering advertisers to opportunity to target hard to reach males aged between 15 and 34 in time for the event, which will take place in Portugal this summer (see MegaPoster Unveils Euro 2004 Giant Billboard Portfolio).

Earlier this week Outdoor Connection published research suggesting that the prospect of an increase in the cost of airtime advertising following the recent ITV merger may give a boost to outdoor revenue, further helping the medium increase its market share (see Research Shows ITV Merger May Fuel Outdoor Profits).

A study conducted by Clear Channel last month suggests that current media research underestimates the impact and effectiveness of non-television media by as much as twenty percent, adding further fuel to the debate surrounding the benefits of outdoor advertising (see Existing Research Under-Reports Non-Broadcast Media).
