MegaPoster Boosts Portfolio With Two New Sites

Giant banner contractor MegaPoster has announced the acquisition of two prime sites, one in Birmingham and the other in Liverpool, in a move that takes its total to more than 30 sites nation-wide.

The new site in Birmingham is situated in the city centre and benefits from a dominant position overlooking Old Square and Priory Queensway. It offers advertisers access to office workers from large commercial premises in the area and patrons of the many bars, restaurants and clubs in the vicinity.

The site in Liverpool is also a high-profile acquisition, situated on the side of the Plaza Building at 100 Old Hall St. The portrait-shaped site is in proportion with conventional six-sheet formats and faces a major road junction on the roads from Preston and Southport. The site has full consent for banner advertising and offers a prime position for high impact campaigns.

Commenting on the new sites, Ian Bohn, sales and marketing director of Megaposter, said: “Following on our acquisition of six sites last month it is clear that we have built real momentum in terms of getting the best sites for our advertisers. We are still insistent that we want only sites in good city locations which will provide advertisers with the specific target audiences they need to reach.

Last month MegaPoster increased its offering to advertisers by 20%, adding seven new sites to its portfolio in an effort to attract more diverse clients. The company also recently secured car manufacturer Mitsubishi to launch its new Colt model with a national giant banner campaign featuring two of the company’s prime sites in Birmingham and London (see MegaPoster Boosts Portfolio By 20% With New Sites).

Outdoor advertising has seen continued increases in revenue over the past few months, with the latest figures revealing a growth spurt during the first quarter of 2004. Adspend in the sector rose by a solid 9.1% year on year during June to more than £184.5 million. Alan James, chief executive of the OAA, described the growth as “very progressive” and said that the medium is “still going from strength to strength” (see Outdoor Advertising Continues To See Revenue Rise).MegaPoster: 020 7960 6037 www.megaposter.co.uk
