Following last week’s revelation that Thomson Regional Newspapers is planning to counteract the effects of the recession by selling off one fifth of its free titles, it has now emerged that Midland Independent Newspapers is showing interest in purchasing the company’s Herald & Post papers.
Although the group has yet to reach an agreement as to which papers will actually go on sale, it is believed to be in the region of 40 titles.
