Mirror Papers Buck Decline In Latest Monthly Circulation Figures

Month on month comparisons from the latest figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) show that sales in almost all national newspapers fell in July this year. The only exception to this trend was the Mirror which took almost 85,500 new sales and its sister paper the Sunday Mirror which rose by 57,651. Also, Sport First continues to improve its circulation up by 11,000 copies month on month. Scotland on Sunday saw the heaviest losses, decreasing almost 11%.

Quality Market The Financial Times saw the only significant year on year rise, growing 8%; the Independent and the Sunday Times also grew while the Times took the largest tumble, falling almost 5%.
Mid Market Mirroring last month’s year on year results the Express continued to fall while the Mail made gains. The Sunday Express saw the most significant decline, its year on year circulation figures down almost 6%.
Popular Market The News of the World retains its hold at the top of the popular market sales despite a year on year drop of almost 134,000 sales.
Despite their monthly rise in circulation figures the Mirror and the Mirror on Sunday fell in a year on year total, the Sunday Mirror sustaining losses of almost 62,000.
