IPC’s fortnightly teenage title Mizz has secured a marketing partnership with Simon and Schuster publishing, which will offer readers a free cover-mounted book.
The free books, featured with November’s edition of the magazine, are written by American author Phyllis Reynolds Naylor and will follow the trials and tribulations of a young girl called Alice through her teenage years.
There are currently 12 titles in the ‘Alice’ series in the UK and the author has plans to write a total series of 28, which will chart teenage trails and tribulations.
Commenting on the partnership, Tara Steadman, senior marketing manager at Mizz said: “This is a prime example of two key brands sharing great synergy, having joined together to support and encourage literary reading to our young audience through an exciting promotion. Letters from our readers express a love of books, so we are delighted to be working with Simon and Schuster to offer them this truly great read.”
Penny Webber, marketing manager for Simon and Schuster UK, added: “We wanted to work with Mizz because they share our passion for great reading for teenage girls and are able to promote new books and authors to their readers with imagination and flair.”
IPC Ignite recently restructured its advertising sales team as part of an attempt to further develop the potential of its portfolio, which includes men’s lifestyle and music titles Loaded, NME and Uncut (see IPC Ignite Restructures Ad Team To Drive Portfolio).
