MTV today signed an agreement with Nova TV, the Czech Republic’s first privately owned commercial TV channel, to provide three hours of MTV programming per week – the programmes involved will be edited versions of MTV’s Hit List UK, Greatest Hits and Rock Block. The programming is scheduled for between 3-4pm, three days a week, with repeats at midnight.
Nova TV plans to launch on February 4 1994. The company’s main investors are CEC (66%), Czech Savings Bank and CET21 made up of local Czech businessmen/ intellectuals.
