MySpace has unveiled a revamped mobile service to bring its mobile offering in line with the website’s redesign, which launched in June last year.
The updated MySpace mobile site is supported in 13 languages and has been optimised for use on various mobile handsets with screen sizes of more than 176 pixels wide, according to reports.
MySpace also plans to develop social networks with applications for the Nokia S60 operating system and Palm’s new webOS system.
The social networking site claims to be the only network of its kind with applications for all the main mobile social networking platforms, including the Apple’s iPhone, Google Android, Sidekick, Nokia, Palm and Blackberry.
Earlier this year, MySpace also announced plans to become the first social network to be accessible via television sets, on a new TV application framework called the Widget Channel, which has been co-developed by Intel and Yahoo!.
The Widget Channel is set to be made available on internet-enabled TV sets and forms part of the deal between Yahoo! and Samsung, which will see Samsung internet-enabled TV sets going on sale in the spring.
