Netflix announces House of Cards series two premiere

The second series of Netflix exclusive House of Cards is to return on February 14 2014, available to all members in all countries where Netflix is available.

In the summer of 2013, for its first season, House of Cards made history as the first ever streaming series to earn Primetime Emmy nominations, and is rumoured to become the first programme to be shown by Netflix in ultra-HD when the second series premieres.

CEO Reed Hastings said that Netflix wants to be “one of the biggest suppliers of 4K content next year.”

This summer Netflix reached 1.5 million subscribers in the UK, accounting for 20% of all downstream traffic on certain fixed networks. Analysts have predicted that by 2015, the online video streaming site could exceed 40 million subscribers across the globe.
