New Editor And New Look For Nursing Times

Emap has announced it is to invest £1 million in its weekly Nursing Times magazine, giving it a new look and a new editor.
The re-vamp will be supported by an advertising campaign which will include news-stand promotions, direct mail, outdoor and radio ads throughout December. A second wave of promotions is scheduled to start in January 2003.
New editor, Rachel Downey, commented: “Nurses want a new kind of weekly nursing magazine, and Nursing Times has reinvented itself to be just that. New content combined with a new outlook, tone, format and design will give our readers what they need, a magazine that reflects their professional image.”
The new-look publication aims to reflect the changing status of nurses, with a more sophisticated and constructive approach. Emap commissioned independent research to evaluate the attitudes of nurses to the magazine and found that many feel that the nursing press has not kept pace with the growing professionalism in the field.
