New National Radio Station In Ireland

The Irish Independent Radio and Television Commission (IRTC) has advertised for expressions of interest from parties interested in providing an independent national radio service.

Written submissions must be in by Thursday 12 May. Submissions of interest will not count as an application to broadcast. Niall Stokes, chairman of IRTC said that the expressions of interest were being sought in an attempt to fulfil the obligation to put a national radio service on air under the 1988 Broadcasting Act.
