Sport Newspapers’ Yorkshire title, the Sunday News and Echo, has suspended publication after its sale to the Robin Corporation fell through. Michael Savage, of the Robin Corporation, pulled out of the £150,000 deal, claiming that he was given false information about the News and Echo’s losses.
DAILY MAIL MMC REFERRAL
The Daily Mail and General Trust’s bid for T Bailey Forman, owner of the Nottingham Evening Post, has been referred to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission by the Department of Trade and Industry. The Daily Mail has put in a £93m bid for the regional newspaper publisher.
