The Independent Television Commission (ITC) has awarded a non-exclusive local delivery service licence to the NTL group, allowing it to provide television services over broadband cable, telephone and, in some areas, microwave radio networks.
The new licence will replace the group’s existing licence on January 1 2000 and will allow the group to offer a full range of multichannel television services in all parts of the country which are not covered by exclusive cable franchises.
