Opus Puts 3 In The Mix With Promotional Campaign

GWR’s sales house Opus has secured a six-figure deal to advertise video mobile services group, 3, across The Mix network.

The campaign will be a media first for the video mobile company and the radio network, which will link their systems together to allow video messaging to be sent directly to The Mix’s website, koko.com.

The promotion aims to raise awareness of 3 and will encourage users to test the service in an engaging way. It will feature the strapline: “The Office Clown” and will run across 13 key stations on The Mix network tempting listeners to register workplace jokers on koko.com.

Video recordings of ‘office clowns’ will be taken using 3G phones and will then be streamed across The Mix’s website, with listeners being asked to vote for their favourite office clown.

Tim Dyer, sponsorship and promotions executive at Opus, commented: “The deal will be great for both 3 video mobile and The Mix listeners, as it allowed us to bring our respective communities together with something they both enjoy – music and entertainment.”

He added: “The campaign has opened a whole host of opportunities for listener interaction, and when used in conjunction with our station websites, these opportunities have become even stronger.”

Opus recently secured Nescafé as the first ever sponsor of The Mix Network’s breakfast show, The Morning Crew, in a deal worth around £1.5 million (see Opus Puts Nescafé In The Mix With Breakfast Sponsorship).
