Overnights: 9.2m watch England victory

A Football ITV1 was on the ball last night, with its coverage of England’s football World Cup qualifier bagging a peak of 9.2 million viewers – a 40% share of the audience.

Playing an Andorra team ranked 196 in the world, England managed to rack up a convincing 6-0 victory. The coverage had an average of eight million viewers – a 35.5% share.

Over on BBC1 at 8pm for an hour was Celebrity Masterchef, featuring journalist Rosie Boycott, DJ Joel Ross and Hotel Babylon‘s Michael Obiora.

The show picked up a peak of 3.4 million viewers (a 14.1% share) and an average of 3.3 million stayed with it for its entire running time.

At 9pm on Channel 4, the medical reality programme Embarrassing Bodies also had a peak of 3.4 million viewers, giving it a 14.8% share.

An average of 3.2 million stuck with it despite the usual close-up display of bodily ailments.
