Possible Times Subscription Promotion

It is reported in Marketing this week that News International are planning a subscription promotion which will offer The Times and The Sunday Times all week for only £1. This subscription offer is already run by The Daily Telegraph which also offers the paper at £1 for seven days and receives a subscription circulation of 298,000; The Times only manages 44,000 with the subscription service it started six months ago.

Whilst News International would neither confirm nor deny this plan, a spokeswoman said they were pleased with The Times promotions which had been “extraordinarily successful”. She also denied claims that the paper had reached a sticking point in its subscription service which had prompted the possible new promotion.
