Radio 4 Appoints New Controller
James Boyle, head of Radio Scotland, has been appointed as the new controller of Radio Four. As part of the new BBC Broadcast Division, the post will be taken up in September when Michael Green steps down.
John McCormick, BBC Scotland’s controller said: “James Boyle refreshed and refocused Radio Scotland and strengthened it as Scotland’s national network. Radio Four will benefit from his leadership just as Radio Scotland has.”
John Boyle hopes to strengthen and develop the intelligence and interests which are associated with Radio 4’s programmes.
