Red Hots Up With Summer Ad Campaign

Hachette Filipacchi is to launch a TV ad campaign this summer to promote Red, its glossy monthly title for older women.
The campaign will run from mid-July and will consist of three 20 second commercials produced by DFGW. These will run across Channel 4, Five and selected satellite stations.
Commenting on the new campaign, a spokesperson for DFGW said: “Red is one of those great magazines that has a brilliant mix of fun features and serious issues and the advertising reflects that in a really powerful way.”
This latest ad campaign, which was bought by Mediaedge:cia, follows a flurry of activity in the women’s monthly magazine market as the top titles battle it out to be the all-important holiday read. Next month’s issues of Cosmopolitan and Glamour will come covermounted with free beach bags in an attempt to attract new readers.
Earlier this year Hachette announced that Vicki Harper had been appointed deputy editor of Red (see Hachette Filipacchi Announces Editorial Shake-Up At Red). The group acquired complete control of the title, which was a joint venture with Emap, last October after a closed bidding process with the rival publisher (see Emap Loses Fight For Red).
