Rivals Revamps Football365 Brand Image

Rivals Digital Media has unveiled a new look for its football site Football365 ahead of the new football season.

Six months of brand survey research has been undertaken to determine what users think of the site and how it would best be portrayed in terms of new logo designs and straplines. A total of 800 site users were randomly selected as they surfed the site, then asked questions over a period of 3 weeks to guage attitudes to the Football365 brand, advertising on the site, the site’s shop and its SMS services.

The new logo of a fan waving a scarf was selected as embodying popular keywords such as “informative”, “irreverant” and “passionate”. This will be combined with the existing “Football news. Football fun. Football fast.” strapline which was selected by users as the best summary of the site.

Chris Reed, marketing director for Rivals Digital Media, said: “The logo eventually chosen to become the new brand image was selected by the majority of the survey participants as the logo which best represented what Football365 was about, matching consensus opinion in-house at Rivals. With the World Cup now over football attention is going to be focused on the new season and Football365 has a new look to celebrate this.”
