Saatchis Acquires Laing Henry

Saatchi & Saatchi have announced that Jennifer Laing, Chairman and Chief Executive of Laing Henry, is to be appointed Chairman of Saatchis, and that Saatchis are to acquire Laing Henry Limited.

Saatchis will buy out Laing Henry for £1.2 million worth of shares in the parent company. The number of shares will be based on the average price of the Company’s shares for the five dealing days prior to the deal, set for 31 March. Laing Henry had a revenue of £2.6 million in 1994, and profits after tax of £98,000. Major clients include the Health Education Authority, Central Office of Information, Metropolitan Police and Muller Light. All Laing Henry business will be merged into Saatchi & Saatchi.

Charlie Scott, CEO of the group said, “This is a significant development for the agency. Jennifer Laing was a major force behind the success of Saatchis for 17 years before leaving… We are delighted to have attracted her back to such a key position.”
