Shane Ritchie, host of Lucky Numbers, has today signed an exclusive two-year deal with ITV. Shane Richie’s new pilot show, The Shane Richie Experience, in which couples win the chance to get married on air, has been commissioned for an 8-part series.
As well as making further series of Lucky Numbers, Granada are devising a sitcom pilot for Shane, with the aim of a series in 1997.
The pilot show of The Shane Richie Experience, shown on August 26 attracted an audience of 6.495 million viewers; the individuals TVR was 12, and it attracted a 40% share of total audience.
Commenting on the deal, Marcus Plantin said, ‘Shane is one of Britain’s most energetic and versatile new entertainers.’
Shane said, ‘I am delighted to be joining Granada because their service stations on the M6 do fantastic Cumberland sausages.’
