ShopFront Media Secures Guardian For New Adsites

ShopFront Media has secured Guardian Newspapers Limited as the first brand to use a series of new LED ad displays that can be updated daily with live news.
The LED Adsites, which are situated at 20 independent newsagents across the UK, will carry The Guardian and The Observer branding and will highlight the content of each paper. Six months trials of the displays will begin in March.
Sylvana Magalova-Evans, client services director at ShopFront Media, commented: “Our LED display Adsites will deliver substantial stand-out at key retail locations and provide the advertiser with a ‘real time’ communication platform with the ability to change message instantly from a central control point.”
Joe Clark, circulation director for Guardian Newspapers, added: “We are always looking for new ways to increase our support for independent newsagents, and as the first quality broadsheet paper to use this LED facility, we are breaking new ground. The display boards give us the opportunity to promote content in line with our marketing strategy, both on the day and in advance, keeping our readers up to date and driving sales.”
The trials reflect the growing trend to include real time messages and news on outdoor advertising sites. Earlier this month Viacom Outdoor launched a similar initiative with the Evening Standard newspaper, which involved a series of special advertising sites on the London Underground (see Viacom Outdoor Brings SMS News Headlines To Commuters).
