Simon Bates has been signed up by Talk Radio to front the Breakfast Show from 0700 – 1000, Monday to Friday.
Along with the appointment ‘Simes’ will be incorporating the tear jerking Our Tune story which is being put up for sponsorship at an estimated £375,000, to include promos, top and tail credits and merchandising opportunities. According to Talk Radio, David Lees, Marketing Director has already spoken to a number of potential sponsors and hopes to secure a deal soon.
From September Talk Radio’s breakfast slot will be revamped with the introduction of a news hour from 0600 to 0700. First report will be a “human interest, tabloid-driven version” of Radio 4s Today programme, presented by Sandy Warr who has been poached from Radio 5 Live.
Other programme changes include switching The football show There’s Only One Gary Newbon from 1600 on Sunday to 1900 on Saturday. James Whale has also been signed up to present the late Saturday night phone – in programme.
