Smash Hits TV Celebrates Birthday With Rebrand

Smash Hits TV is celebrating its first anniversary of being on air with a branding makeover.

Emap is thought to be spending a five figure sum on the revamp, which from tomorrow will see the digital music channel adopt new branding, programming and break bumpers to bring it in line with a new look based around the theme of “funky people in a digital world”.

Dave young, Emap’s TV programming director, said: “Everything’s getting a full-on makeover. It’s a fresh new look to celebrate the first year of Smash Hits on TV, and we’ll also be running a special week of programming with all the biggest tunes from the last year.”

Smash Hits TV sits alongside Emap’s other digital music channels, which include The Box, Magic, Q, Kiss and Kerrang, all of which are extensions of Emap’s magazine and radio portfolio.

Earlier in the week Continental Research announced the launch of a digital audience research service to provide data for the specialist satellite channels and radio stations that broadcast on the Sky digital platform. The service, called Specialisting, is designed to work alongside BARB and RAJAR data, giving detailed audience profiling and the opportunity to carry out ad hoc research surveys in Sky Digital homes (see Continental Launches Digital Audience Research Service).
