SMG Launches Cross-Media Service For Advertisers

SMG has launched a new service to provide advertisers with easy access to the group’s range of media businesses.

The SMG Access service, which is the result of a review of SMG’s cross-media proposition, is designed to help advertisers and agencies add impact to their campaigns by allowing them to work uninhibited across SMG’s media portfolio, which includes TV, newspapers, magazines, radio, outdoor, cinema and online.

Under the initiative, brands will be able to make use of SMG’s production and editorial resources, they will be given access to research for advertising campaigns and will be provided with a single point of entry for all SMG media and invoicing.

Commenting on the new service, SMG’s chief executive, Andrew Flanagan, said: “As the breadth of its media portfolio increases, SMG is now better placed than ever to provide creative media solutions. SMG Access will provide brands with the enhanced impact they require to compete effectively in today’s cluttered marketplace.”

The launch of the service will be supported by a targeted mailshot campaign and presentations to clients and agencies will begin in June.

Last month SMG released it year-end financial results showing that pre-tax profits fell by 39% to £36m during 2001. The group, which has been badly affected by the advertising downturn, said that the results were in line with market expectations (see SMG Profits Hit By Ad Downturn).
