SRH Tipped To Sell Outdoor Assets

Scottish Radio Holdings (SRH) is reportedly looking to sell its outdoor division, Score Outdoor, as part of a move to streamline the company in the face of the current advertising downturn.

Score Outdoor has been badly affected by the worsening economic climate with profits falling by almost £2m over the last year and according to a report in Business a.m, SRH is holding talks with outdoor groups including JCDecaux, Maiden and Clear Channel regarding the sale of the company.

SRH today dismissed the reports as “speculation” and a spokesperson for JCDecaux said: “There’s nothing to confirm or deny, at this stage its just a rumour.” Maiden and Clear Channel were unavailable for comment.

SRH recently reported its annual financial results showing an 11% increase in turnover to £79.8 million and announced the acquisition of the remaining 76% holding in Today FM owner, Radio Ireland for £36.4m (see Scottish Radio Outperforms Market, But Profits Dip).
