TalkSPORT Extends Fiat Sponsorship Deal
![]()
TalkSPORT has extended its agreement with Fiat Light Commercial Vehicles to sponsor SportsWatch, a twice daily sports news bulletin on the station.
The new deal will continue to give Fiat exposure to a highly targeted male audience at key times of the day and will also include sponsorship activity on the station’s website, www.talksport.net.
Commenting on the agreement, Ben Nicholls, sponsorship and promotions manager at Impact, said: “Having conducted independent research, we have found that out that our listeners’ propensity to purchase vans and their awareness of the sponsors on the station was phenomenally high. Joining up again with Fiat LCV for the SportsWatch is a testimony to how hard sponsorships work on talkSPORT and we are really pleased to continue the association.”
MediaVest’s Simon Flaxman, who negotiated the deal on behalf of Fiat, added: “TalkSPORT has demonstrated and independently proved the fit between Fiat LCV and talkSPORT’s audience. As a result it made perfect sense to maintain the relationship and build on the success of the sponsorship.”
TalkSPORT’s parent company, The Wireless Group, recently announced that radio airtime revenues rose by 1.4% in the six months to June, despite the fact that last year enjoyed a boost to spend during the World Cup competition (see Wireless Group Sees H1 Revenues Rise 1.4%).
