TalkSport has acquired the exclusive radio broadcasting rights for the biggest heavyweight fight ever to be staged in Britain. The UK’s first sports radio station, which launched earlier this month (see Talk To Launch UK’s First Sport Station), will broadcast coverage of the Mike Tyson and Julius Francis fight live from Manchester on Saturday. The station outbid BBC Radio 5 Live, its biggest competitor, to secure the rights.
Chief executive of TalkSport Kelvin MacKenzie said: “Our exclusive coverage of this fight confirms TalkSport’s position as the number one station for sport news and commentary.”
