Taxi Media Launch Tip Up Seats

Taxi Media has launched a new initiative allowing brands to target taxi customers with product-filled tip up seats.

Highland Spring is the first advertiser to make use of the tip up seats, which are hermetically sealed and filled with mineral water. The one-year contract covers 12 liveried taxis, which can be seen in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Sales director of Taxi Media, Lloyd Keisner, said: “Filled tip up seats will appeal to a wide range of advertisers. There’s endless creative possibilities, we could put the latest toy or computer game in the seat or a 3D model of a holiday destination or fill it with chocolate, snacks or even jewellery. It’s an eye catching opportunity for advertisers to target people when they’ve got time to themselves.”

Taxi Media plans to offer illuminated tip up seats from 2002 allowing advertisers to combine the initiative with fully wrapped Taxis and branded receipts.

Creativity within the Taxi advertising sector has been growing steadily over the last year. Taxi Vision unveiled plans to install computer controlled LCD screens in London taxis last August (see Ad Screens For Black Cabs) and London Taxi Promotions yesterday unveiled an interactive initiative, using cab drivers to promote holiday destinations (see Taxi Advertising Goes Interactive).

Taxi Media was bought by the More Group last year as part of the company’s expansion of its taxi-advertising interest, Barnett’s Taxi Advertising (see More Group Expands Taxi Advertising Interest).
