Stephen Davidson, chief executive of Telewest Communications, has said that he will be stepping down from his position following yesterday’s announcement of the merger between Telewest and General Cable (subscribers see Telewest Buys General Cable For £649m).
Davidson will be replaced by David Van Valkenburg, currently chief operating officer, on a temporary basis.
It is intended that the board of the new company will consist of 14 directors, with Gary Ames, chairman of US West International, becoming chairman.
