The Big Issue To Go National

In a bid to attract more national advertising, the Big Issue is to relaunch from 1996 as a national magazine.

The magazine, which is sold by the homeless, currently has a circulation of 102,142 (Jul-Dec 94) and publishes separate Scottish and Manchester editions. A national version it is hoped would provide a circulation of around 385,000. New distribution centres will be set up around the country.

A spokeswoman for The Big Issue said the core of the magazine will be the same but there will also be regional pages.
