Associated New Media is promoting the relaunch of its This Is London website with a six-figure multi-platform marketing campaign.
The campaign, which includes outdoor, radio, London Underground and viral email activity, launches this week to promote the improved features on the thisislondon.co.uk website. Following research into the preferences of its users, new sections have been added to the site including a dedicated shopping zone, a traffic and travel section and a full listings service with information on pubs, bars and restaurants.
A subscription-based service called the Insider’s Guide To London will also be available to subscribers for just over £2 per month. Editorial director of Associated New Media, Avril Williams, said: “Research suggests there is a market for paid-for content on the internet and This Is London has the kind of quality content that justifies subscription.”
The relaunch campaign, which has been created by incumbent agency Elliot Borra Perlmutter, will run throughout October and will be accompanied by a series of special promotions.
Williams added: “The new site looks great. We’ve taken the best of This is London and added lots of new elements which will make it the ‘must-use’ site for people who want to really enjoy their capital city. The new structure means we also have lots of scope to build and expand further in the near future to attract even more users.”
Associated New Media is the digital arm of Associated Newspapers which publishes the Metro and the Evening Standard. A recent survey from the Newspaper Society shows that the majority of publishers have invested up to 30% of their reputation in their online offerings over the last three years, with the majority saying they plan to continue devoting time and money to new media ventures.(see Online Publishers Believe They Must Up Investment).
