The Times has this week unveiled an extensive outdoor marketing campaign to promote its sports section as the largest of any daily newspaper.
The Biggest for Sport campaign will run for two weeks on the London Underground and will comprise a range of 96-sheets and 48-sheet posters on platforms, as well as 12-sheet posters and escalator panels.
The creative for the campaign have been designed by Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R and focus on the newspaper’s football, rugby and cricket coverage. Writers include Gary Neville and Claudio Ranieri on football, as well as Christopher Martin-Jenkins on cricket.
Commenting on the campaign, Andrew Mullins, Times Newspapers Limited’s marketing director, said: “Sports fans need look no further than The Times to find extensive coverage alongside witty and incisive commentary from people who really understand sport.”
Earlier this week Times Online announced plans to re-launch its travel website with the backing of an electronic brand marketing campaign. The new look website brings together content from The Sunday Times and The Times to provide in depth guides to travellers (see Times Online Re-Launches Travel Website).
