Trinity Mirror Launches 40th Midlands Newspaper

Newspaper publisher Trinity Mirror has today launched its 40th newspaper title in the Midlands, with the Kenilworth Citizen reaching over 9,000 homes in Kenilworth.

The paper will be published by Coventry Newspapers Ltd, and achieve penetration of 87% of homes, allowing advertisers to reach a lucrative market in which 71% of adults are in the ABC1 socio-economic group.

The average pagination of the Kenilworth Citizen will be 68 pages, with the weekly publication filled with news and reviews on the local area. The paper will carry all advertising platforms, including recruitment, property and motors.

The editorial team will be lead by Coventry Weekly Newspapers’ Group series editor, Andrew Punshon. Commenting on the new paper, Punshon said: “We are looking forward to watching it develop into the town’s premier newspaper and we will make sure it carries a good balance of stories for all the family.”

Debbie Davis, advertisement director for Coventry Newspapers added: “There are so many local businesses in Kenilworth and the Citizen will provide then with a way to reach over 9,000 homes in the town.”

She continued: “Kenilworth also has a great appeal to businesses in the surrounding towns and cities. Companies want to target people in Kenilworth because of the attractive demographics, they are very good customers.”

The Kenilworth Citizen will add to Trinity Mirror’s portfolio of newspapers already on offer in the Midlands, including, the Coventry Evening Telegraph/Birmingham Evening Mail and Solihull News.
